Spiritual illness soul-loss

You are probably familiar with term “soul-loss”, it is so called spiritual illness. Soul-loss is an adaptive mechanism that usually serves by allowing us to cope, and in some situations survive a terrible experience, in which the dissociated soul parts depart, carrying the pain, the shock, the extreme emotion, or the memory of the trauma which may be simply unbearable to the sufferer at the time it occurs.

According to shamanistic beliefs and practices, soul-loss occurs when a part of our soul drifts away into another reality. Sometimes it becomes possessed by spirits or is simply repressed within our subconscious. When such a thing happens to us, we are no longer complete and whole. As individuals, we tend to lose our soulful energy every time we identify ourselves with our egos or try to feel whole through stimulation, relationships, workaholic, busyness, materialism etc.

Soul-loss may occur in response to physical, emotional, or sexual abuse; a molestation experience during childhood or being ruthlessly teased and bullied; a difficult divorce, a shocking betrayal, a sexual assault, a serious surgery, life-threatening illness, loss of loved one or a car accident.

Soul-loss can also be the result of an experience that is so personal at the perceptual level that no one else would know that a trauma had occurred. This is often the case with early childhood soul-loss in which there has not been an overt trauma, and so nobody picks up that the child has been severely traumatized. In such a case, it can affect the patterns of the person’s life from that time forward-creating inner distortions in which the person feels fragmented in their emotional and psychological realities.

Symptoms for ongoing soul-loss are as follows:

  • being fragmented
  • not being all there
  • blocked memory or not being able to remember parts of one’s life
  • sudden onset of apathy or listlessness
  • lack of joy in life
  • the inability to make decisions
  • the inability to feel love for others or receive love from another
  • addiction to alcohol, drugs, sex and/or gambling
  • workaholic
  • busyness or unable to do anything
  • materialism
  • feeling not enough
  • feeling unloved
  • low self-esteem, self-respect, self-acceptance
  • often resulting in the sense of being emotionally flat-lined.

The loss of these parts of the self is often expressed as despair, as suicidal tendencies, as addictions, or most often-as depression.

Soul retrieval

A soul retrieval is a powerful spiritual practice that heals soul-loss. Soul-loss can occur whenever we have trauma in our life. From a shamanic perspective, soul-loss is a common cause of illness. Traditionally, a shamanic practitioner would conduct a soul retrieval within three days of someone experiencing trauma. Today, modern shamanic practitioners seek lost soul parts that are willing to return from any point in life.

If you’re suffering from soul-loss, what can you do about it

The first step to healing from soul-loss is learning to reconnect to the guidance of your soul. Reconnecting to the soul allows you to find peace and happiness right where you are in ways that are much simpler and more profound than you might think. It might also mean that you change your life completely like friends, hobbies and job. Start with small things toward the joy and happiness like enjoying of silence, being grateful for all that you have, journaling, spiritual reading, meditating, energy healing, sound therapy, soul art therapy (coloring sacred geometry), walk in nature & do the things you really love. Reduce screen-off time and be more present. Better is not to use tv at all, it distracts you from your authentic self. The food we eat reflects to our frequencies and vibrational level.

Sometimes after soul-loss you might have “walk-in” experience if it seems that you are not able to connect with your own soul like considering suicide or other deep negative thoughts. This “walk-in” means soul exchange, your body has been replaced with a new more advanced soul. There is also pre-birth plan which affects to all of this. I will write about this later.

I have gone through soul-loss in my life.  Now I recognize easily a person who suffers soul-loss. Yes, I am a Wounded Healer.
